Postdoctoral Opportunities at KSoM
The Kerala School of Mathematics (KSoM) provides a stimulating research environment for postdoctoral scholars in mathematics and related fields. Our campus offers collaborative opportunities with active research groups, access to academic resources, and an atmosphere that fosters independent exploration and scholarly growth.
Postdoctoral opportunities at KSoM are offered through two primary channels: external fellowships and the in-house Research Associateship programme. Details are provided below.
External Postdoctoral Fellowships

Researchers holding fellowships such as the INSPIRE Faculty Award, NBHM Postdoctoral Fellowship, or N-PDF are welcome to be hosted at the Kerala School of Mathematics (KSoM).

Interested candidates are encouraged to write to the Director, KSoM for details regarding institutional affiliation and research support.

Research Associateship at KSoM

The Kerala School of Mathematics invites applications on a rolling basis for its in-house Research Associate (RA) positions. These are early-career academic positions intended for researchers who have completed or submitted their PhD in Mathematics or closely related disciplines. The position is initially offered for one year and may be extended to a maximum of two years based on performance.

RAs are expected to pursue independent research and teach at least one MSc-level course during each academic year. These positions are not linked to individual faculty members or groups, offering the flexibility to work across disciplines.

Fellowship Details

  • PhD submitted (awaiting defense): ₹54,000 per month + HRA
  • PhD defended: ₹58,000 per month + HRA
  • With 1 year RA/PDF experience: ₹61,000 per month + HRA
  • With 2 years RA/PDF experience: ₹67,000 per month + HRA

A contingency grant of ₹40,000 per year is also provided.

Tenure and Review

The initial appointment is for one year. Extensions may be granted for up to one additional year based on a performance review. At the end of each year, RAs are required to submit a report and deliver a seminar on their work.
