Prof. A. K. Vijayarajan is a Professor of Mathematics at the Kerala School of Mathematics. His research centers on non-commutative functional analysis, operator algebras, and their applications to quantum theory. He works extensively with operator systems, injective envelopes, boundary representations, and tensor products in the context of $C^*$-algebras and ternary rings of operators (TROs).
A central theme of his work is understanding rigidity and extremality properties of operator spaces—such as hyperrigid and quasi-hyperrigid systems—and how these properties influence approximation theory and dilation phenomena in operator algebras. His investigations contribute to the structure theory of $C^*$-algebras and non-commutative geometry, often intersecting with questions from quantum measurement and state extension.
