Conferences at KSoM
The Kerala School of Mathematics regularly organizes and co-hosts national and international conferences, workshops, and academic gatherings. These events bring together distinguished mathematicians, early-career researchers, and advanced students to present cutting-edge work, explore collaborative opportunities, and engage in meaningful scholarly exchange across diverse areas of mathematics. Explore some of our recent and upcoming conferences below.
International Conference on Transcendence, Arithmetic and Diophantine Explorations (TRADE) – 2025
Held from January 3–5, 2025, this international conference is designed to bring together experts and emerging scholars in number theory. It serves as a platform to exchange ideas and foster research collaborations, particularly in transcendence theory, Diophantine approximation, and related areas. The event also commemorates the remarkable contributions of Professors Patrice Philippon and Sinnou David, honoring their pivotal role in Indo-French mathematical collaborations.
International Conference on Class Groups of Number Fields and Related Topics (ICCGNFRT) – 2023
Organized from October 26–30, 2023, this conference marked the continuation of the ICCGNFRT series at KSoM. The event provided a vibrant forum for in-depth discussions on algebraic and analytic aspects of class groups, Selmer groups, class field theory, modular forms, and computational number theory. It brought together leading experts and younger researchers to present recent breakthroughs and explore collaborative avenues.
Interactions in Several Complex Variables – Workshop & Conference – 2022
Held from December 19–23, 2022, this event focused on several complex variables and complex analysis. Supported by the National Board for Higher Mathematics, it featured a structured program combining intensive mini-courses, research talks, and poster sessions. The event aimed to promote interaction among Indian researchers in complex analysis and create a fertile ground for future collaboration.
International Conference on Class Groups of Number Fields and Related Topics (ICCGNFRT) – 2022
From November 21–24, 2022, KSoM hosted the second consecutive edition of ICCGNFRT. Continuing its focus on arithmetic and algebraic structures in number theory, the event included presentations on ideal class groups, relative class numbers, Picard groups, Iwasawa theory, and elliptic curves. The conference fostered new connections between senior researchers and early-career scholars.
Recent Advances in Mathematics and Related Areas – 2022
Held from April 21–24, 2022, this conference aimed to expose young mathematicians across India to some of the most active research areas in contemporary mathematics. With a combination of in-person and online lectures by established experts, the event helped participants explore frontier topics and build connections within the broader mathematical community.
International Conference on Class Groups of Number Fields and Related Topics (ICCGNFRT) – 2021
Conducted from October 21–24, 2021, this edition marked the first time ICCGNFRT was hosted at KSoM. It featured wide-ranging discussions on arithmetic topics such as annihilators of class groups, class field theory, and Diophantine equations. The event served as a dynamic hub for mathematical dialogue and cross-generational mentorship in number theory.
Recent Advances in Mathematics and Related Areas – 2020
Held from December 18–22, 2020, this hybrid-format conference was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala. It was aimed at introducing advanced undergraduates and early research scholars to recent developments in pure and applied mathematics. The event featured lectures from leading mathematicians, both online and onsite, making it one of the first hybrid conferences at KSoM.
